Rozwój artysty to nieustająca podróż.

Trudno ukończyć kawałek, gdy słyszałeś go sto razy w trakcie produkcji. Lepiej zostawić go na jakiś czas, by powrócić później na świeżo.

Mocno inspirowały mnie wczesne produkcje Infected Mushroom. Zawsze też byłem szalenie zafascynowany Shpongle i Ott.

Jedz porządne rzeczy i poćwicz fizycznie. Spróbuj stworzyć spokojną przestrzeń. Przestań narzekać i poznaj swoje mocne strony.

Silverlake i Transform festival to moje pierwsze zagraniczne występy.

No i oczywiście potrzebuję wydawcy i trochę funduszy, by to spełnić.

Zapraszam do odsłuchu tutaj i tutaj.

English Version

1. How would you describe your genre? Is it groove full-on?

My style is closer to Full on with a darkish twist, though I'm still trying to find my own style. It is a constant journey to develop and grow as an artist. Many changes in life has an effect on my music. Today's electronic music genre is very polarized and there are so many options and ways to create.

2. You got quite a nice sound as for an artist from underground scene. How you do that?

In early years I was focusing on mixing the main beat, kick and bass which are the main elements in psytrance. After I got used to producing psytrance, kick and bass would come really fast on every track when starting a new one. After that it's just experimenting and searching different sounds and using my imagination. Many times I listen to other people's tracks and try to learn new techniques from them. You have to get really good quality samples and try different styles, EQs and filters to get it sound right for your own ear. I approach making music slowly and every time the progression is different. It is hard to complete the track when you have heard it hundreds of times when creating it. It's better to leave it to rest for awhile and start later with fresh ears.

3. Are there some specific well known trance producers that influence your music?

(3)Infected Mushroom's early production has inspired me a lot. I've also always been a crazy Shpongle and OTT fan as well. At this time my influences include Sonic Species, Talpa and Astrix as they are all close to full-on psytrance. Most artists that have influenced my technical abilites are Soladria, Other half of Ascoil Sun (Matti Mikkola). To be honest I try to mimic and learn how most known producers of psytrance create their music.

4. What are the typical mistakes that young producers make which can avoid?

First of all get your shit together, clean those pizza boxes and empty cans of beer under the bed, stop boozing, taking drugs and smoking for awhile to clear your head... Eat proper food and get some needed exercise. Try to create serene environment. Stop whining and learn your strengths. If you live in a toxic relationship or environment along with people who suck you dry then I recommend you do something about it. Of course this have been the lessons I have had to deal with in my own life. But everyone does it their own way in the end. Good quality sample packs that are organized help the work flow. I also recommend watching tutorials from youtube, but always give space to creating your own unique techniques. Also just try things out, even the old usual ways and you'll eventually find some inspiration or theme for your next track. Personally it's very important for me that the drums work from the very beginning.

5. What's your opinion about performing live acts in compare to dj sets? Is it what we called „live” really a live performance?

Personally I don't care if the artist is playing "live" or is a DJ as all music is pre-programmed anyways. I like them both. I'm still an amateur at deejaying even though I've done about 50 gigs or so. It's quite easy to play as they are my own tracks. I don't use headphones. In the future I plan to play more live stuff.

6. How did you know about Silver Lake festival in Poland?

A guy who I know, Jorgos Petrovsky from Czech Republic mentioned about it on Facebook. He also plays at the Silverlake festival. He asked about Finnish producers who don't do the typical "suomi-sound" and I responded that I do "lets fuck full on psytrance". I googled about the festival and asked Jorgos about the name of the contact person. After that all started rolling forward and I sent a message to the organizers. I might be playing on the main stage at prime time. At least this was what I heard. Silverlake and Transform festivals are for the time being my first gigs abroad.

7. What are your goals for the future? Big festivals?

Certainly big festivals like Boom, Psy-fi or Ozora would be a dream come true, but there is still some miles to go. Five years ago I would never have dreamt about playing abroad. My intention is to create an EP or LP, but I still need much more practice and find my style. And of course I need a publisher and some funds to make it happen. I'm sure there will be some problems during the trip... like at the moment my hard-drive broke when I had all the stuff related to music making. These kinds of setbacks discourage, but my the real hard-drive in my head did not brake, so everything learned and experienced are still there ? My first proper release is published via Vertigo Records. It's called "Frozen Delights" - a compilation (completed by DJ Unitone). Check it out.
